This retreat is great for the whole family! Grandparents, extended family, and empty-nest homeschoolers are welcome, too. We’ll enjoy many activities, game nights, private cookouts, and meet-ups throughout the week. Rooms, meals, and scheduled group activities are included in the price.
Many activities are available: archery, sports, challenge courses, arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, disk golf, climbing wall, zip-lining, mini golf, and more. (Many of these activities are free to guests, some cost a nominal fee for materials or rental, while others cost more.)
My retreats are the most relaxed of all my trips, and children (and adults) have plenty of opportunities to bond and have fun together. It doesn’t take long for the kids to put away their electronics and get outside together. If you have to choose just one of my trips and want it to be a vacation for the whole family – consider this one.
Lodging & Meals
Our rooms are similar to hotel rooms, but without the frills. They have two queen beds and one single floor mattress (suitable for a younger child), telephone, and wireless internet access. As with our other retreats, there are no TVs in the rooms. (We don’t miss them at all – we’re too busy playing, relaxing, and getting to know the other families in our group.)
The max is 5 people per room, regardless of age (even infants), so if your party is larger than that, you’ll need two (or more) rooms.
Meals are provided from lunch on Sunday, May 26, through breakfast on Saturday, June 1. Meals are buffet-style and there are options for all types of diets. There are labels of the allergens in each entrée, so guests can make the correct choices. For more information about meals and food issues, please read our Rocky Mountain Retreat FAQs.

Cost and What’s Included
The cost is per room (for the entire stay, not per day) as follows:
First, add the adults in the room (adults are defined as age 13 and up):
1 adult: $895
2 adults: $1,187 (total, not per person)
3 adults: $1,480 (total, not per person)
4 adults $1,770 (total, not per person)
5 adults: $2,062 (total, not per person)
Then, for each child ages 6-12 in the room, add $172.
And last, children ages 5 and under are free.
Age verification for each child under age 13 will be required. If you don’t want to verify age, please count them as an adult.
An example to clarify the pricing:
If you have a family of 5, with two parents, three children (13, 7, and 5), you’d add the total for 3 adults (since age 13 and up are considered adults) – $1,480, then you’d add $172 for the 7-year-old, and the 5-year-old would be free. So your total would be $1,480 + $172 + $0 = $1,652.
Your total includes your registration fee, lodging for 6 nights, all scheduled group activities, many other activities, meals starting from lunch on our arrival day through breakfast on our departure day, and tons of fun.
Some activities have a fee (climbing wall, horseback riding, guided hikes, etc.), and you’ll pay for them as you go. However, many activities are available for free or a nominal fee for supplies or rental. The crafts were a favorite for all ages – t-shirts, woodworking, leather, silk, stained glass, jewelry, pottery, and much more. Here’s a list of available activities.
For families flying in, round-trip shuttle service from Denver International Airport to the YMCA is available and will cost extra (but we’ll get a group discount).
Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Policy
Half of your total (which includes a non-refundable deposit of $150 per person age 6 and older) is due within 7 days of my email confirmation. The remaining half is due by November 10, 2018. (You can pay the full amount upfront if it’s more convenient.)
No refunds or roster changes after December 31, 2018.
I accept personal checks, paper checks (not electronic payments) through your bank’s BillPay, and electronic transfers through Zelle (if your bank offers that). I don’t accept credit or debit cards, PayPal, or other payment methods for this trip.
Due to space limitations, adding extra people without my prior approval is not allowed. Your spots on this trip aren’t transferable, and no payments will be refunded unless we fill our room block and have a family on my waiting list to replace yours. Please be sure you want to go before registering and making payments.
Your signed waiver and payment acknowledges your understanding and agreement with my cancellation and refund policy.
